We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Finance team on a part-time (15–20 hours per week), fully remote, 8-month contract. In this role, you will serve a dual function:
- Providing support and temporary coverage for the Controller during their part-time leave
- Assuming select responsibilities from the Senior Accountant to ensure continuity in financial operations
The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while operating independently in a flexible remote environment.
Responsibilities:
Controller Support & Backup
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Maintain internal controls, identify process improvements, and ensure policy compliance.
- Support ongoing team projects
Senior Accountant Collaboration
- Oversee and support Accounts Payable (AP), including reviewing and processing weekly vendor payments.
- Allocate expenses to proper general ledger accounts.
- Oversee the company T&E process including corporate credit cards.
- Assist with audit and tax preparation documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger and month-end close procedures.
- Soft skills: high attention to detail, organizational skills, proactive, independent work style, problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a service-based company environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP.
- Previous exposure to public accounting.
- Experience in payroll coordination and financial audits.
