The Personal Lines Account Executive will be responsible for generating new business sales to drive organic growth and to provide a high-level of customer service in retaining and servicing Personal Lines Accounts.

Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Prospect and qualify new personal lines accounts which meet agency standards
  • Generate new business appointments through networking, referrals and other sources to attract and retain new clients
  • Round out lines of business on current accounts
  • Seek cross-sell opportunities from other departments
  • Meet or exceed assigned New Business revenue goal, determined on an annual basis
  • Meet or exceed assigned retention goal, determined on an annual basis
  • Attend and actively participate in agency sales meetings and sales trainings
  • Attend and actively participate in agency service meetings and service trainings
  • Partner with sales advisors in PL, CL and EB to present Personal Insurance as a voluntary benefit to employees of CL/EB clients/prospects – including, but not limited to:
  • On site marketing/quoting
  • Presentation of personal insurance products offered
  • Proactive management of an assigned book of business utilizing the Epic Agency Management System
  • Obtain information requested by the company underwriter
  • Review company issued New and Renewal policies for accuracy in rating, typing, endorsements forms and coverages
  • Work with accounting to invoice all premium bearing Agency bill transactions
  • Provide client support, develop relationships and work independently on assigned accounts
  • Act as claims advocate in coordination with Agency Claims resources when applicable
  • Adhere to Workflow procedures standardized by the Workflow Committee
  • Report to Team Lead of assigned branch(es) on Epic activities and daily job functions
  • Service personal lines accounts in a manner to eliminate gaps in coverage, thus reducing our E&O exposures
  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to customers, producers and company personnel
  • Educate clients on their insurance coverages, needs and identify potential gaps in coverages
  • Grow and develop talents and insurance knowledge in conjunction with The Ansay Way
  • Continue professional development (i.e., keep current with industry and carrier changes, continuous training, pursue professional designations, etc.)

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Insurance licenses: Must hold a valid Property & Casualty license (preferred but not required).
  • Professional designations (preferred but not required): CISR, CIC, CPIA, AINS.

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in personal lines insurance (agency or carrier).
  • Proven success in managing a personal lines book of business (new business, renewals, cross-sell, upsell).
  • Experience with agency management systems (Epic, AMS360, Applied, Vertafore, HawkSoft, etc.).
  • Familiarity with carrier rating systems and comparative raters.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of personal lines products (home, auto, umbrella, renters, recreational, etc.).
  • Ability to quote, bind, and service accounts efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of insurance regulations, underwriting, and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with CRM/AMS platforms.

Sales & Relationship Skills

  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong cross-selling and upselling abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client and carrier relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.
  • High level of professionalism, empathy, and client service mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
