Description: Agile5 Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to provide expert technical guidance on complex wired network systems. This role is crucial for gathering user requirements, designing and implementing network infrastructure, and troubleshooting critical issues. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of internetworking, various network hardware, and security protocols, with a proven ability to improve processes for deploying and maintaining network solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Senior Network Engineer Job Duties:

  • Gather stakeholder requirements using various methodologies to produce technical documentation, including system requirements, security documents, scopes of work, and system test plans.
  • Design, install, maintain, and evaluate network systems and communications systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving various protocols, topologies, and networking hardware.
  • Assist with network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.
  • Apply knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance current network designs and develop new ones.
  • Improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Work independently and collectively to enhance network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.
  • Support Continuity of Operations (COOP) operations as needed.
  • Design, deploy, test, certify, patch, and address interoperability issues for network components and application dependencies, including switches, firewalls, load balancers, and software-defined networking.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) advisor for verifying building IT, network design, and construction documentation.
  • Read, understand, and apply existing industry standards to complex IT documents related to network infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain a baseline of Cisco and Juniper network infrastructure, including software-defined networking.
  • Work in a cross-team collaborative atmosphere and provide executive demonstrations and presentations.

Security Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Top Secret (TS) with a full-scope polygraph required. Candidates must already possess this clearance level upon applying.

Experience Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 13 years of prior relevant experience. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively and independently to develop creative solutions within a small team environment and possess strong communication skills.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Desired Skills / Qualifications: Deep experience with Cisco and Juniper network infrastructures, including software-defined networking. Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving network issues across various protocols and topologies. Proven ability to apply technical knowledge to improve processes and documentation. Strong skills in cross-team collaboration and presenting to executive-level stakeholders.

Location: On-site in Huntington, AL

Status: Full time

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

Travel Required: Yes, 10%
