The Madison Concourse Hotel is seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has prior experience in an upscale or high-volume kitchen, works well under pressure, and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality dishes. This is a full-time role with typical shifts from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Flexibility is required, including availability on weekends and holidays. Starting wage for this position is $21 per hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and plate appetizers, entrées, and desserts according to recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the team during busy service periods
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Assist with inventory, freshness checks, and special dietary requests
Qualifications:
- Previous line cook experience (hotel or upscale dining preferred)
- Strong culinary skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Culinary education is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments
- Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly during service
