Job Specifics:
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for leading and managing a team of project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to deliver exceptional quality and customer service to our clients. The SPM will work closely with senior leadership to align with VMG Mechanical and Modigent’s strategic goals, driving profitability and operational excellence.
MUST HAVE STRONG MECHANICAL HVAC AND PLUMBING KNOWLEDGE
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative solutions to proactively address potential issues.
- Analyze bid documents to identify risks and opportunities before project commencement.
- Review drawings and develop schedules that align with budget constraints.
- Collaborate with preconstruction services and operations teams to meet project goals and milestones.
- Evaluate subcontractor scopes to identify risks or omissions.
- Foster open communication with project teams and owners/clients.
- Monitor project budgets, identify potential issues, and capitalize on opportunities to increase profitability.
- Ensure accuracy in budget projections and financial reporting.
- Lead coordination and site meetings with owners, clients, or as assigned.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project scope changes, execution, or cost variations.
- Set clear objectives and goals for team members, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Ensure strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Uphold company contractual standards before performing work.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Conduct Quality Assurance analysis to minimize call-backs and warranty issues.
- Perform job-site walks with clients to ensure complete satisfaction.
Relationship Building:
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with current and future clients.
- Develop strong relationships with subcontractors to support future growth.
- Initiate new projects by collaborating with architects, engineers, owners, and general contractors.
- Maintain proactive communication with the entire construction team.
Human Resources:
- Recognize and track employee progress, nominating individuals for promotions or bonuses.
- Assist in interviewing and recommending prospective employees.
- Mentor and develop project teams to ensure successful project execution.
Subcontractor Management:
- Proactively schedule subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships to support long-term growth.
Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all VMG Mechanical and project-specific safety requirements.
- Verify that all staff are equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Coordinate with the safety officer to conduct jobsite visits and maintain a safe work environment.
General Requirements:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, punctual, and capable of multitasking.
- Strong follow-up skills, both internally and externally.
- Professional in appearance and communication.
- Experience with government facilities is a plus.
